Song about Costa Rica goes viral. 150,000 views on Facebook in 3 days!

May 21, 2018: Costa Rica may have found a new anthem in Darin Talbot's “Costa Man” song. Since May 18, the song has generated over 154,000 unique views on Facebook, and 6,900 shares and 57,000 views on YouTube. “It's been spreading like wildfire,” said a jubilant Talbot, “I had no idea the song would be this popular.” Talbot has been affectionately called “The Costa Man” at his shows in Guanacaste for the last several years. “I love writing songs about Costa Rica and this song has struck a chord with the hearts of Ticos, and that makes me more proud than words can say,” he said. The song has generated hundreds of comments on Talbot's Facebook pages and YouTube channel from people all over Costa Rica and Ticos all over the world. He first moved to Costa Rica in 2011 when he was hired as the in–house resident musician at The Springs Resort & Spa in La Fortuna. “I fell in love with the ‘Pura Vida’ instantly,” said Talbot, who has been a journeyman entertainer for 22 years. He has had his share of success. The award–winning singer/songwriter has opened for The Beach Boys and The Brian Setzer Orchestra, and he even performed at the famous Playboy Mansion singing for celebrities like Hugh Hefner, Will Smith, and Patrick Swayze. But that all pales in comparison to his new success in Costa Rica, says Talbot: “I have done a lot in my career, but nothing tops being loved in Costa Rica by Ticos. It is my favorite place in the world. I am humbled, blessed, and grateful. Muchas gracias mis amigos y yo quiero que ustedes sientan la Pura Vida todos los días.”
