COSTA RICA INAUGURATES CONVENTION CENTER

After a years-long wait, Costa Rica has opened a Convention Center, which will act as a showcase for the country, displaying it as a viable destination for the meeting industry. Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera, President of Costa Rica, had this to say: "Over the course of this administration, we’ve given tourism the priority it deserves, which is why we’ve been able to make the Convention Center a reality, a project which had been put off, yet which without a doubt will boost the tourism industry, creating benefits throughout the country".

LUFTHANSA FLIES TO COSTA RICA FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER

On Thursday, March 29, the German airline Lufthansa arrived at Costa Rica's Juan Santamaría International Airport for the first time ever, kicking off the direct route between Frankfurt, Germany and Costa Rica. The A340-300 Airbus from Lufthansa Group, one of the largest airlines in the world, landed fully booked, with 279 passengers.

DISNEY CRUISE LINE SHIP ARRIVES IN COSTA RICA

After 7 years, Costa Rica once again heralded the arrival of the ship Disney Wonder, which docked at the Puntarenas harbor with 2,500 passengers on board. The Disney cruise line confirmed their decision to resume operations in the country following a meeting held at the Seatrade fair in Fort Lauderdale, USA, last month. Mauricio Ventura, Minister of Tourism explained that the return of this prestigious cruise line is the result of efforts to revive the cruise ship industry in Costa Rica.
